Digital Fashion Pro was not always called Digital Fashion Pro. It was first called HADDS - Harper Arrington Digital Design System before the name change. HADDS was created by Michael H. and Jay Arrington in 2002. While creating hand sketched designs, the pair realized that it was time consuming to keep drawing the same basics over and over. They also wanted a uniformity in the scale of each fashion sketch. The other issue came with manufacturers. Manufacturers wanted computer sketches because many times, hand sketched renderings are hard to follow.
Thus they created a system of templates that they used while designing their own clothing line. The next thing they did was added the Digital Fabric Component to make their designs look realistic. The system became a hit with manufacturers and retailers who liked how the sketches were being presented. When HADDS sketches were compared to regular industry hand sketches and other program sketches - HADDS would win hands down because of the amount of detail that could be carried in each design. Michael and Jay actually took in over $100,000 worth of orders at the Magic Clothing Trade Show just by showing their catalog full of fashion styles created with HADDS. So from 2002 thru 2005 - HADDS was only used internally by Michael and Jay. In mid 2005, under the Harper Arrington Company - HADDS was released to the public at www.startingaclothingline.com a web site for up and coming fashion designers who wanted to start their own clothing lines.
HADDS became an instant hit! Over the course of time, the system grew and got better and better. In mid 2006 - HADDS became Digital Fashion Pro. Today the program and it’s capabilities have continued to overwhelm the masses. Digital Fashion Pro is now the #1 Fashion Design Software in world. Michael and Jay still design with the program on the regular - constantly making improvements to it because they use the same system the public uses. Digital Fashion Pro is more than a fashion software - it is a movement. The program has opened the doors of the fashion industry to many people who didn’t quite know how to get into the business. Today Digital Fashion Pro is one of the most recognized brands in Fashion Design. The system is used by colleges, high schools, fashion designers and companies around the world.
